Each spring, KU Hillel offers a freshmen leadership series for emerging Jewish student leaders on campus. Freshmen Leadership Series is a five session series that includes a one-night retreat. This program provides freshmen with leadership opportunities, as well as training and resources to grow as successful leaders within the KU Jewish Community.
On Saturday, February 19-20, KU Hillel hosted its freshman student leaders at Tall Oaks Conference Center for the last session of its Freshman Leadership Series. The activities included group bonding, leadership building activities, small-group discussions focusing on KU Hillel programming and more.
KU Hillel student interns Zahava Davis and Raphi Shuster organized and facilitated the Freshmen Leadership Series and retreat with the help of KU Hillel Executive Director Jay Lewis.
Logan Cole, a freshman who attended the leadership series, said she really enjoyed the experience because she got to make new friends.
“I was able to meet other young Jewish adults at KU as well as got closer with people I already knew. It also helped me learn more about the amazing opportunities that KU Hillel has to offer for students,” she said.
