“I am so excited to bring someone of Michelle’s caliber to KU Hillel’s development position,” said KU Hillel’s outgoing Executive Director Jay Lewis. “She is bright, driven, passionate about Jewish life, and a terrific relationship builder.”
A veteran leader in the Kansas City Jewish community, Cole has served on the boards of KU Hillel, the Jewish Community Center, and the Women’s Division Board of the Jewish Federation. She is a Past-President of the Board of Congregation Beth Torah, where she also chaired their annual golf tournament.
“We are sad to lose Michelle on our board but are thrilled to add her to our professional staff,” said Sheryl Kaplan, President of KU Hillel’s Board of Directors. “Our staff is complete and it’s awesome. I can’t wait to work with them.”
Cole, along with newly hired Executive Director Suzy Sostrin and Program Director Leah Swartz, will join returning staff members Senior Jewish Educator Rabbi Neal Schuster and Engagement Associate Tori Luecking.
“KU Hillel couldn’t be in better hands moving forward,” explained Lewis who will transition to being a Campus Support Director for Hillel International in July. “This organization is truly going from strength to strength. “
