Recent KU graduate Evan Rakoover, originally from Austin Texas, has been hired as the Israel Engagement Associate at Hillel of Broward & Palm Beach in Boca Raton, Florida. Rakoover is the fourth recent KU graduate to accept a position working for a University Hillel just this year.
“We are amazed to hear about so many of our involved students choosing to work in the Jewish world,” says KU Hillel Program Director Melissa Kingston.
Throughout his four years at KU, Rakoover was significantly involved with Hillel. He participated on KU Hillel’s European Leadership Mission and held various internships. Most recently, Rakoover was an Israel Engagement intern during the spring 2016 semester.
“Evan played an integral role in bringing a Jordanian Arab and ardent Zionist public speaker, Abe Haak to KU’s campus this past April. Evan worked with our Development Director to raise more than $2,000 dollars to make the event possible. We know that Evan has a bright future ahead of him and we are so excited to have him join the world of Hillel professionals,” Kingston concludes.
KU Hillel alumni and new Hillel professionals will have the opportunity to reunite with the current KU Hillel staff this December in Orlando, Florida at Hillel International’s Global Assembly.
