Throughout the summer, KU Hillel staff has been working with admissions at the University of Kansas and surrounding communities from Kansas City all the way to New York and California to reach new students who are excited to start their Jayhawk journeys.
Freshmen students at KU Hillel can expect a full schedule of BBQs, Shabbat dinners and socials to get the school year started. Tori Luecking, KU Hillel’s Engagement Associate, has assembled a team of upper classman who will be responsible for reaching out to freshmen students and ensuring that they know everything going on at KU Hillel.
Freshmen programs will take place all over campus starting with Union Fest on Friday, August 18th followed by Hawkfest on Saturday, August 19th. Luecking and her team will also be hosting a Freshmen Kick-Off Party on the Robinson Athletic Lawn outside of the Recreation Center on Sunday, August 20th at 1pm.
“We want to hit the ground running right when school starts,” said Jonathon Bush, an incoming senior and student leader on the freshmen engagement team. “KU Hillel is such a great place for new students so we want to make sure our freshmen know where to find us and how to get involved,” Bush said.
