"Hawk Week Shabbat Brunch is designed as a way for KU Hillel to meet incoming freshmen and introduce them to the organization,” said Melissa Kingston, KU Hillel’s program director. “It is also a great chance for returning students to reconnect after a long summer. This year we have decided to revamp our kick off event by bringing in Chris Cake to flip their world famous pancakes as well as two food trucks: The Blissful Bite and Kona Ice. We are looking forward to an amazing turnout.”
In addition, this year Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has co-sponsored the event and provided funding for KU Hillel to be able to create and pass out free T-shirts to students during the event. KU Hillel’s student interns will also be passing out information about upcoming events, including information about how to sign up for KU Hillel’s Birthright-Israel trip as well as opportunities to get more involved throughout the year.
