On Sunday, August 28th KU Hillel alums Taly and Bradley Friedman hosted 60 KU Hillel alumni and their families at their home for KU Hillel’s first Alumni BBQ.
Co-hosted by KU Hillel Board Members David Cohen, David Katz, and Carly Stein, the Alumni BBQ brought together many of the young Jewish KU alums working and living in the Kansas City area.
The BBQ is the first in a series of fun events that KU Hillel will hold in Kansas City this year to help their alums connect to each other and the Kansas City Jewish community.
“We feel like one of our roles on the board is to keep young alumni involved. We wanted to host something low-key and family friendly. People seemed to have a great time at the BBQ; connecting with old friends, new friends and the Hillel staff,” says KU Hillel board member Taly Friedman.
“We are trying to create an alumni network to cultivate community, to encourage networking, and to provide a venue for alumni to stay connected to and feel pride in what the impact we continue to have on campus,” adds Lewis.
