Jared Belzer, an incoming sophomore, had a great first year at KU. Belzer attended many KU Hillel programs last year and participated in the Freshmen Connect Series, a 5-session series designed for emerging Jewish freshman leaders.
Participating students in the program are given opportunities to explore leadership topics, get to know a number of other Jewish freshmen, connect with KU Hillel staff and current student leaders and learn more about KU Hillel.

Stacey Belzer, Jared’s mother, echoes similar sentiments about her son’s experience at KU Hillel this past year.
“[KU Hillel] provides our kids with a Jewish home away from home,” she said. “It gives them a place to gain leadership skills, professional skills, Jewish experiences and a great place to just be themselves!”
KU Hillel staff is looking forward to kicking off another great school year and the summer pool party was just the start.
“We’ve been working hard as a staff to create a program calendar that will excite our students,” Leah Swartz, KU Hillel Program Director, said. “I cannot wait to see everyone when classes start in August and share what we have planned.”
