KU Hillel Freshmen Engagement Interns will reach out to incoming freshmen at the end of the summer. Hillel has a team of nine Freshmen Engagement Interns whose primary focus is to develop relationships and connect freshmen to Jewish life at KU. Over 100 freshmen were involved with Hillel last year! The first new student event, Hawk Week Shabbat Brunch, will take place on Saturday, August 22nd on the Kansas Union Plaza directly in front of the Kansas Union. The brunch is a time for friends to reconnect after summer and provides first year students the opportunity to meet new people and to get acquainted with KU Hillel.
“I am so glad I attended Hawk Week brunch last year. I met a ton of people, many of which are now my best friends,” said incoming sophomore Sidney Silverstein. “I also learned about future Hillel programs and events,” she added.
