On Saturday, January 24th, KU Hillel paired up with Moishe House to host a KU basketball watch party in Kansas City. More than seventy young adults came to watch KU take on the University of Texas at The Granfalloon on the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. “I love KU Hillel alumni events because it gives me a chance to reconnect with everyone,” said Hillary Gutovitz, KU Alum of ’13. “KU Hillel greatly influenced my life and made a big impact on me as a Jewish leader. I will always remember my experiences apart of KU Hillel from freshman leadership series, to hosting Shabbat around KU dinners and to going to Israel on KU Hillel’s leadership mission trip. It is so important for me to stay connected to this amazing organization and to continue to be a part of the KU Hillel family.” The event was a great chance for alumni to reconnect with college friends and meet other Kansas City Jewish KU alumni. "I always look forward to the KU Hillel watch party in KC,” said David Cohen, KU Alum of ’11. “It is a really great opportunity to stay connected to my alma mater and build that same community in Kansas City. KU Hillel was such an important part of my college experience that it's important to me that I continue that connection after graduation. The party is always a good reminder of just how many Jewish KU students call KC home after leaving Lawrence. It was an added bonus that the Jayhawks were victorious this year!" KU Hillel also hosted a KU basketball watch party in Chicago at the Crossing in Lincoln Park on Saturday, January 31, which was attended by more than 40 young alums. “I think it is wonderful that KU Hillel is reaching out to their alumni networks,” said Tracy Altman, KU Alum of ‘05. “There are so many Hillel alumni in Chicago and when Carly Stein or Jay Lewis come to town, dozens of people gather to hangout and watch a KU game together. It's fun to see old and new faces!”
