Therapy at KU Hillel
It’s important to prioritize your mental health!
KU Hillel offers free private therapy sessions with our licensed therapist, provided in partnership with Jewish Family Services KC. Students can sign up for hour-long sessions with our therapist in the comfort of KU Hillel or virtually.
Carla DeHetre, LCSW
Carla is excited to begin her new role as the Jewish student therapist at KU! A native Chicagoan, Carla has lived in Lawrence for over 25 years. She is excited to combine her clinical skills and knowledge of community resources to support the mental health of Jewish students at KU.
Carla is a Licensed Specialized Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kansas. She has a master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago, and is a proud graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Art History.
Carla’s therapeutic style is collaborative, client centered, and strengths based. No matter the therapeutic model, she strives to tailor the therapy process to meet the individual needs of each client through an empathic and compassionate lens.
Outside of work, Carla loves to spend time with her husband and two cats. She enjoys exploring all that Lawrence and KC have to offer, cooking, rooting on the Cubs & Bears, and of course the Jayhawks. Rock Chalk!
